REPSOL – MONTESA HRC
World Trial Championship
4th round. Unitet States Grand Prix (2nd day).
Toni Bou wins, increasing his lead in the championship. Takahisa Fujinami
comes in second, completing the success of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team.
Sequatchie (Tennessee, USA), 27.04.2008. - Second day of the US rounds in the Trial
World Championship, and second double victory for the Repsol-Montesa HRC team,
this time the winner was Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT). Takahisa Fujinami,
yesterday’s winner, finished second today just five points away from his colleague.
With this result, Bou has increased his leadership in the general classification, with
seven points more than Fujinami, who is second. Regarding manufacturers, Montesa it
still in the lead.
The rain that fell the night before made this second day of the US world championship
rounds more difficult and the scores were much higher. Fujinami began very well and
seemed to be in conditions to repeat his victory of the day before, but some mistakes
towards the end of the first lap cost him the advantage he had over Bou, with which he
maintained an interesting duel in the second lap, in which the current world champion
obtained the lowest score of the day. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) was
eleventh in the Junior World Cup event, one place up from Saturday’s session.
Toni Bou: “It’s been a very positive week for the team, in an event where both Fujinami
and I have done very well, insuperable. Personally, I would have preferred to have won
on Saturday as well, so I’d have a bit more advantage in the general classification. But
I can’t complain, I said I’d try to take advantage of this second chance and that’s what I
did”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I started off very well, but after zone 12, I made a few mistakes
and lost my advantage. The struggle with Toni throughout the weekend has been very
interesting. We both felt comfortable on this difficult terrain and our advantage in points
over our rivals has confirmed this. The two-day event has enabled me to move up one
position in the general classification and given me the maximum motivation for the next
event in my country and before my fans”.
The Japanese round will also be held over two days; on May 31st and June 1st in
Motegi.

3th round. United States Grand Prix (1st day).
Repsol-Montesa HRC team one-two. Takahisa Fujinami wins and Toni Bou once again leads the world championship.
Sequatchie (Tennessee, USA), 26.04.2008.- Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) was the winner of the first day in the United States Trial, third scoring event in the World Championship. Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) sealed the double victory of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team with a second position that again places the current world champion in the lead of the general classification, in which Fujinami shares ex aequo the second position. With these results, Montesa has increased its advantage as leader in the classification by manufacturer.
The overall command of both Repsol-Montesa HRC riders was apparent from the first lap of a varied route, with some water zones and difficulties. Fujinami achieved the best score in both laps, with Bou close behind: three points in the first lap and four in the next. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished twelfth in the Junior World Cup event.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I’m very satisfied. I think I did a great first lap and that was the key to my victory. I feel full of enthusiasm at this moment and the only thing in my head is to repeat this result tomorrow, on the second day of the event”.
Toni Bou: “I’m pleased with the victory of Fujinami and the team, but to tell the truth, I would have preferred to be the winner. We can see that this is going to be a very tough championship and we’re going to have to take the partial results very seriously and try to keep up a regular performance. I’ve got another chance tomorrow and I’ll try to make the best of it”.
The second session of the United States Grand Prix, to be held this Sunday, will be the fourth event in the World Championship.

REPSOL – MONTESA HRC
Spanish Trial Championship
2nd round.
Toni Bou still leads the general classification after finishing in third
position.
Fraga (Huesca, Spain), 13.04.2008.- Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) is still leading
the general classification of the Spanish Trial Championship after finishing third in the
second scoring event, held this Sunday. On a simple track without great difficulties, the
Montesa rider did not find the chance recover the two points obtained at the beginning
of the event. We must remember that regulations for riders in the TR1 category
(equivalent to the former Senior A) applied this year in the Spanish Championship, rule
that they must pass through each of the fifteen zones twice consecutively before
moving on to the next. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished fourteenth in TR2
(formerly Senior B category).
Toni Bou: “There’s not much to say, we knew we had come to compete in an event
without a high level of selectivity and we were aware that with these conditions the
most difficult thing would be to recover points if any mistake was made. And that was
exactly what happened to me, I made a couple of small mistakes and had no chance to
neutralise them in the next zones. The best thing I can say is that I’m still leading the
championship”.
The next Spanish Trial Championship event will take place on May 18th in Morella
(Castellón).

2nd round: Ireland Grand Prix.
Toni Bou finished second after a fight up to the last moment.
Takahisa Fujinami obtains again a podium position.
Bangor (Ireland), 06.04.2008.- Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished second in
the Ireland Trial Grand Prix which took place this Sunday. The present word champion
fought up to the last moment for the victory in a very cold round on a quite difficult
ground. After leaving four points to the future winner in the first round, Toni Bou made
the best scoring of the day in the second lap, which allowed him to reduce the final
difference to only one point. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) became
again third in the podium after having improved remarkably in the second lap.
Montesa obtained a new victory among manufactures and improved their advantage at
the top of the general classification. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) became 14th
in the Junior category, where Alexz Wigg (Montesa) added up a new victory while the
third place was for Alfredo Gómez, riding with the support of Montesa.
Toni Bou: “I made some mistakes that could be considered mild but with such a strong
and consistent rival as Adam they become important. In the second lap, I made it better
and I have recovered but not enough. There is no doubt that the championship is going
to be hard and exciting”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I don’t feel happy because I left too many points, specially in the
first lap. In the second one I improved and I coud climb up to be on the podium, which
is always something positive”.
The next event of the World Championship will take place in Sequatchie (Tennessee,
USA), where the third and fourth scoring rounds will be held next April 26 and 27
respectively.

Toni Bou begins defending his title with a hard-earned victory and

Ettelbruck (Luxemburg), 30.03.2008. - This Sunday in Luxemburg, Toni Bou (Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT) won the event that starts a new edition of World Trial Championship.
The Montesa rider, current champion, had to work hard, especially in the first lap, on
slippery and very difficult terrain. Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) was
leader during part of the event, finishing the first lap with 25 points, the same as his
teammate. In the second lap, the Japanese rider made some mistakes, which although
they impeded him from opting for victory; enabled him to obtain third position on the
podium.
Bou’s results as first leader in the world championship, and those of Fujinami have
placed Montesa in the lead of the classification by manufactures. Laia Sanz (Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT), who the previous day had won the first event in the Women’s World
Championship, finished thirteenth in the Junior World Cup event, won by Alexz Wigg in
first position and Alfredo Gómez second, both riding Montesa bikes.
Toni Bou: “It’s been a very tough trial and it took us a lot of work to adjust the bike to
the conditions of the terrain, which was very slippery. The team’s done a great job and
this victory’s been the best reward. In addition, Adam’s pressing us hard again, clearly
revealing his intentions. We can look forward to an exciting championship, we’ve
started well, but as I always say, let’s take it step by step”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I was leading the event initially, but in the second lap, I didn’t do
things as well as I should have. Even so, It’s not been a bad result because to be on
the podium is always important. The best thing is that I’ve seen myself fit for winning,
and therefore maintaining my ambition to win the title”.

Press and
Toni Bou regains the world championship, celebrating it with a new
victory.
Madrid, 15.03.2008.- This Saturday, Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) regained the title
of World Indoor Trial Champion, a success sealed with his victory in the fifth and final
scoring event, held in the Community of Madrid Sports Palace. After having left the
championship virtually decided in the previous event, it would have been enough for the
Montesa rider to participate in this last championship event to obtain the point needed to be
proclaimed champion. Nevertheless, Toni Bou was determined to close the championship
with a new victory, an objective that was clear even from the classification lap, which he
ended as leader and with only five penalization points. And the champion was relentless in
the final, winning for the first time in the Spanish capital.
Toni Bou ended the World Championship having obtained 48 of 50 possible points after his
four victories (Marseille, Granada, Milan and Madrid) and one second position (Barcelona).
Born on October 17th 1986 and resident in Piera (Barcelona), Bou obtained his first trial
title at the age of 13 (Junior Champion of Catalonia), followed by the Spanish Junior
Championship (2001), the Youth Trial European Cup (2002), the European Championship
(2003) and the Spanish absolute Championship (2006). In 2007 he joined the Repsol-
Montesa HRC Team and at the end of that same year he had also won world the Indoor
and Outdoor championships, the Spanish Indoor Championship and his third victory, all
consecutive, as a member of the Spanish team in the Trial des Nations.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) almost entered the final again, but a mistake
in the high jump cost him three points and what would have been his third consecutive
podium position.
Toni Bou: “A championship as short as this one, with just five events, puts a lot of pressure
on you, as it is very difficult to recover from any loss of points. I think the key to my title was
the victory in Granada. I'd just won second place in Barcelona and had a bad fall that I was
afraid might even stop me from continuing. I got over it, gave it everything I had and despite
competing with a cut eyebrow, managed to win and increase my advantage as leader. I
think I couldn’t really ask for more after winning four out of the five events. There’s no doubt
the team did an extraordinary job. Now we have to refocus and concentrate on the open-air
world championship, that’s going to start in a couple of weeks and where we will also
defend the title with everything we've got”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I wanted to end the championship with a podium position and be with
Toni in his victory but It wasn’t to be, I made an error of judgement and was left out of the
final. I ended the championship with satisfactory results, but hope to do better in the
outdoor world championship”.

Tony Bou is on the right path for another world indoor title with the 4RT Montesa
Toni Bou consolidates his leadership with an epic victory and
Takahisa Fujinami is with him on the podium.
Granada (Spain), 09.02.2008. - This Saturday, Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) has
won the Indoor Trial of Granada for second consecutive year, the event ending the first
half of this World Championship. A new victory that consolidates the Montesa rider's
leadership in the general classification, with six points over his most immediate rival.
After finishing first in the classification lap (5 points), the holder of the world title
resolutely overcame the consequences of a bad fall in the second play-off obstacle that
cost him five points in that zone and another five in the next, which he did not, do as he
was being attended for a deep cut in an eyebrow, being taken to a hospital in Granada
for treatment after the event.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) completed the success of the Repsol-
Montesa HRC team with his first podium position of the season. Fujinami finished the
classification lap with seven points, the same score as Adam Raga, having taken less
time to complete the course (8:54 minutes, 46 seconds less than his rival), which
enabled the Japanese rider to participate in the final.
Toni Bou: “Two victories and a second position is a good result for the middle of the
championship. Today’s victory has been very hard to achieve, almost incredible. I was
injured and after the bad fall and wasn’t feeling too good, sometimes I even doubted
whether I could continue, but I managed to bring out all my determination after the tenpoint
penalization of the fall. This sort of incident shows you that in a moment you can
lose all your advantage, even more so when there are still thirty points at stake. There’s
no denying it, our situation is good, but we can’t consider it definitive at all”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “First I’d like to congratulate Toni, because to win in his state is very
commendable; he’s taught us a good lesson. Today I relived a very similar situation to
what happened in the first event of the season in Marseille. The same event that left
me out of the final then; the play off by time, has put me on the podium this time. I felt
quite at ease and was very close to obtaining second position if it wasn't for a mistake
in the antepenultimate zone. I hope to continue like this in the coming events”.
The fourth scoring event for the World Indoor Trial Championship will be held on March
1st in Lisbon.

Toni Bou continues leading the World Championship after finishing
second in the Palau Sant Jordi.
Barcelona, 03.02.2008. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) still leads the general
classification of the World Indoor Trial Championship after the second scoring event
this Sunday in Barcelona, where the title-holder finished second. After winning the
initial event of the season, Toni Bou made an excellent classification lap, finishing with
just one point, in comparison to the seven of the other two finalists. In the play-off, the
Montesa rider made three failures, the last of them in the eleventh and antepenultimate
zone, which he reached with only one point more than the future winner and with
options win for the third consecutive time in the Palau Sant Jordi. Takahisa Fujinami
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) almost reached the final, finishing fourth in the classification
lap.
Toni Bou: “I made a couple of mistakes competing against a very tough rival, and that
explains the result. After winning in Marseille, I commented on how important each
victory was going to be in such a short championship, and I think it’s essential to
continue with the approach that gave us such good results last year, taking each race
as it comes. I wasn’t able to win today, but the good thing is I retain my leadership”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “In Marseille I was much closer to reaching the final. Last year I
obtained a podium position here in Barcelona, and of course I would have liked to
repeat that result in this demanding event. It wasn’t possible, I made more mistakes
than I should have and my rivals were stronger”.
Toni Bou will be defending his leadership in the third scoring event, to be held next
Saturday 9th of February in Granada.

Toni Bou begins defending his title by winning the first event of the season.
Marseille (France), 19.01.2008. - This Saturday, Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) won the event that has begun a new edition of the World Indoor Trial Championship in the Sports Palace of Marseille. The Montesa rider, current champion, polished his performance to the limit in an exciting play-off, after finishing third in the classification lap, scoring 11 points, the same as Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT), using the time taken by both of them to decide deadlock between the team-mates. Bou finished the first pass through the seven individual zones in 9:02 and was the only participant not penalised for excess time, established at 11 minutes.
Toni Bou: “Of course, this has been the best way to start the championship. And at the same time I’ve managed to get even with this event. I think in a championship as short as this one, with only six scoring events, to win has an added value. What’s true is that we’ll have to be very careful with mistakes, because whoever makes them will find it very difficult to recover lost ground, and regarding this event; I suffered a bit in the first lap. Of course, being the current champion and defending the title means more pressure on me, but this won’t change our approach, which is identical to the one that was so successful last year; taking each event as it comes”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I was out of the final when I lost the parallel race with Toni. It was a question of him or me, and he was sharper at the key moment. But I feel quite satisfied, perhaps due to our equal performance. Of course, it would have been much better to begin the season on the podium. We’ll work to achieve this in the next world championship event”.
The second World Championship scoring event will be held on February 3rd in Barcelona, in the Palau Sant Jordi.

World Trial Championship
10th round. Great Britain Grand Prix
Toni Bou achieves an important victory and Montesa celebrates its
tenth world championship in the classification by manufacturers.
Hawkstone Park (England), 29.07.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) has taken an
important step forward to winning the world championship with his victory this Sunday in
the tenth scoring event. With a 20-point advantage as leader in the general classification
and only two events to go, the Repsol-Montesa HRC rider could well seal the fate of the
Championship in the next event on September 2nd in Andorra, where he only needs to
finish in front of his immediate rival, Adam Raga, in this penultimate event. Regarding
manufacturers, Montesa has obtained its tenth world championship title, the second
consecutive win since the company decided to compete exclusively with four stroke
engines in 2005.
Toni Bou set the pace on the two laps round a very demanding and slippery track, due to
the rain of previous days, obtaining his eighth victory in this edition of the championship.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) made the second best score in the second
lap, obtaining his sixth podium position of the season, while Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT) also improved in the second lap, coming in fifth. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC
Cota 4RT) finished eleventh in the Junior Cup, continuing eight in the general classification.
Toni Bou: “Today’s victory has been very important, and it will enable me to enjoy a few
days holiday with a certain peace of mind before finishing off the work in Andorra. In any
case, I’m aware that it won’t be an easy task, because, as we’ve seen again today, I’ve got
a very tough rival who’s not going to give me any chances”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “It’s nice to be back on the podium after being left out in the last two
events. In this sense the result’s been good. But I’m not completely satisfied because I
made too many mistakes in the first lap, excluding me from the fight for victory”.
Dougie Lampkin: “Of course, I expected a better result in this event and before my
supporters, but I started off terribly and it was difficult to recover. Insisting on what I’ve said
before, with such a high level of competitiveness, any mistakes are paid for dearly and it’s
clear that I must improve if I want to win”.

World Trial Championship
9th round. Czech Republic Grand Prix
Toni Bou ends second and with three competitions to go, maintains
a firm leadership of the World Championship.
Kramolin (Czech Republic), 15.07.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished
second in the Czech Trial Grand Prix, ninth event in the World Championship. With seven
victories and two second positions, the Montesa rider is still a solid leader in the general
classification with three competitions to go for the end of the championship. Regarding
manufacturers, Montesa has increased its advantage as leader in the general classification.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) lost his options for the podium in the second
lap of a long route without great difficulties in which Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota
4RT) did not feel comfortable at any moment, as can be seen in the result that has cost the
seven-times world championship one position in the general classification. Laia Sanz
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT), who with yesterday’s victory began the route to what could be
her eighth world championship in the feminine category, was seventh in the Junior World
Cup.
Toni Bou: “Evidently, I would have preferred to win, but today’s result is good enough if we
look at the championship from a global point of view. We have taken part in an event, which
due to its low level of difficulty did not permit any errors. I made one mistake in the second
lap, when I started too soon in the seventh zone, and it was impossible for me to recover
the five points that the mistake caused me”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I made a couple of mistakes and I felt I was affected by a very strict
controller. But the conclusion is that I didn’t do as well as I should have. There’s not much
more to say”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I didn’t feel good on this terrain at any time and made many mistakes,
with a really disastrous final result. I hope I can make a radical change in my country in the
next event”.
The tenth and last but two scoring event for the World Championship will be the Grand Prix
of Great Britain, to be held on July 29th in Hawkstone Park.

World Trial Championship
8th round. Polish Grand Prix
A new victory for Toni Bou, the seventh in eight possible wins,
consolidates his leadership.
Myslenice (Poland), 08.07.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) obtained his
seventh victory of a possible eight this Sunday, in the current edition of the World Trial
Championship, a new triumph consolidating the Repsol rider as leader of the general
classification, with 20 points advantage over the second classified and four events to go
before the end of the championship.
Toni Bou was already the best in lap one, which Dougie Lampkin and Takahisa Fujinami
(Also riding Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT bikes) finished with only two and three points more
than their colleague respectively. The British and the Japanese riders were in a position to
have obtained a triple victory for the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, but they lost their possible
podium positions at the last moment. Laia Sanz finished tenth in the Junior World Cup
category.
Toni Bou: “We’re doing fantastically well and I only hope we can keep it up. This victory has
been very important because I already have one race advantage as a leader with one
event less to go in this very important phase of the championship. This situation gives us
peace of mind, but what’s clear is that I mustn’t relax. There are still a lot of points at stake
and we’ve got to continue working with the same approach as usual, race by race”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “A pity. We were about to obtain a sensational result for the team and
lost the opportunity just at the end. On the whole I think I didn’t do too badly, but I can’t be
satisfied”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I felt Ok on the first lap, where I was very close to Toni, but my
performance went down in the second lap and I paid for that by losing three positions. To
almost get a result like the one we could have obtained and to lose it is a big
disappointment”.
The ninth scoring event for the World Championship will be held next Sunday, July 15th, in
Kramolin (Czech Republic).

World Trial Championship
7th round. Italian Grand Prix
Toni Bou begins the second half of the world championship with
another victory and Takahisa Fujinami achieves a new podium position.
Erba (Italy), 01.07.2007. - Despite participating with a cold and a temperature, Toni Bou
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) begun the second half of the World Trial Championship in the
best way possible, winning this Sunday the seventh scoring event, the first of four to be
held in July. The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider structured his victory, sixth in the present
edition of the world championship, with an effective first lap on tough terrain, apt to recover
errors. On the second lap, Bou’s energy waned, despite which he maintained his first place
and at the same time increased his advantage as championship leader.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) achieved the best score of the day in the
second lap, which again gave him a podium position. Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota
4RT) took part in the event without having recovered from a finger injury he suffered in the
Japanese Gran Prix, the previous championship event. Riding in this state, the multi-world
champion recovered two positions in the second lap finishing fourth. Laia Sanz (Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT) was fourteenth in the Junior World Cup. Regarding manufacturers,
Montesa’s new victory continues increasing the brand’s advantage in the general
classification.
Toni Bou: “To win in the conditions I participated makes up for the effort and suffering I had
to put up with at the end of the event. Once again, Adam did very well and it’s clear I can’t
relax even for a moment. In month as intense as this one is going to be, I’m strictly carring
on with my plan of taking each race as it comes, without thinking of anything else. This
approach has been very successful up to now”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “My second lap was very good and I’m satisfied, but it’s clear that I
must perfect the first laps to improve results and get a better podium position”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I honestly think I did what I could. I’m not completely recovered from the
injury and with four competitions in five weekends, it’s going to be a very tough month for
me”.

World Trial Championship
6th round. Japanese Grand Prix (2nd day)
Toni Bou ends the first half of the championship with 117 points, of the 120
possible. Montesa leads the classification by manufacturers with a large margin.
Motegi (Japan), 03.06.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) ended second on the
second day the Japanese Trial, sixth scoring event in the World Championship. The
Repsol-Montesa HRC rider ended the first half of the event with the impressive result of five
victories, all consecutive, as well as the second position this Sunday, results than have
given him 117 of the 120 possible. In the classification by manufacturers, Montesa
continues increasing its advantage as a leader.
This second day of the Japanese event in the world championship has been much more
balanced than yesterday. Toni Bou ended the first lap of the event with the same number of
points as the future winner and maintained his chance to win up to the last moment.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) also offered a strong fight that left him in third
position again and won his fourth podium position. Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota
4RT), affected by an injury in a finger of his left hand yesterday, gave a lesson in amour
proper and finished seventh, although only two points from the fifth position. Laia Sanz
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT), finished fifth, with the same number of points as the fourth
classified in the Junior World Cup. With her best result this season, the multi-champion has
climbed to seventh position in the general classification.
Toni Bou: “I’m not exactly happy, because the only thing for me was to win and today I
made two mistakes as soon as I started the second lap, which had to pay for at the end. I
was aware that sooner or later my lucky streak would run out, but when that time comes it’s
hard. Even so, to finish second after having made these mistakes gives me something to
look forward to in the future”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I fell and injured my finger, but fortunately it was in the last zone and it
didn’t affect the result. I’m more satisfied than yesterday and I even thought I could be a
contender for victory. To win a podium position in both days of the trial in my country has
been good, but I’m not satisfied, as I didn't win”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I did what I could. I started out in bad shape and workd es hard as I
could to win all the points possible in the world classification. Now we’ll have a few weeks
to rest, which will be very useful for me to recover”.
The next scoring event will be held on July 1st in Erba (Italy).

World Trial Championship
5th round. Japanese Grand Prix (1st day)
Toni Bou is the star of a display that finishes with another victory.
Takahisa Fujinami returns to the podium.
Motegi (Japan), 02.06.2007.- Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) remains unbeaten in the
current edition of the Trial World Championship. This Saturday the driver of the Repsol-
Montesa HRC achieved a spectacular victory in the first day of Japan's Grand Prix, his fifth
points race. This gives him the lead and with 100 points the maximum possible so far. On
observation, Bou notched up just one mark in the first lap and if he hadn't knocked down a
sign he would have had a clean second lap. In his country's Grand Prix, Takahisa Fujinami
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) took third place and his third podium position of the season. With
these results from Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami, Montesa has continued to increase its
lead in the manufacturers' classification.
Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) fell in the first round while he was in third place.
Despite being dogged by an injury to a tendon on a finger on his left hand, he finished sixth.
Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished seventh out of the participants of the Junior
World class, where she is eighth in the general classification.
Toni Bou: “I feel really really satisfied with winning like this and even more when you
consider how strong Adam was. In the second lap I made a serious mistake but even so
this victory, in Honda's country, and in front of their people, has been a real pleasure.
Obviously tomorrow I'll try to do it again. My position in the championship is more
comfortable but this doesn't change our plan to take each race at a time, which has been
successful so far”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “To get to the podium in my country and in front of my fans is a good
result, but obviously I'm disappointed when I consider how many points Toni and Adam
have taken. Tomorrow I'll have another opportunity and I'll do my best to make the most of
it”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I started well and finished as best as I could. The injury to my finger has
affected a tendon and being on my left hand it restricts me each time I have to use the
clutch. It's unlucky, but that's part of the sport. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but it
looks unlikely that I'll be in good condition”.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is the second day of this trial, which will mark the end of the first half of
the World Championships.

World Trial Championship 4th round. French Grand Prix
Toni Bou’s lucky streak continues, with a new victory that maintains
his leadership. Dougie Lampkin achieves another podium position.
Senez (France), 27.05.2007. - The five-week break since the previous event has not
changed the trend of this year’s edition of the World Trial Championship. Toni Bou
(Montesa-HRC 4RT) was victorious this Sunday in the fourth event of the season, a
triumph that has kept him unbeaten and with which the Repsol-Montesa HRC rider has
continued increasing his advantage as leader in the general classification. Toni Bou based
this new victory on a fine first lap, where he obtained less than half the number of points
than any of any of his rivals.
Dougie Lampkin and Takahisa Fujinami (Both also riding Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT bikes)
again led the close struggle for the third podium position. The Japanese rider, second at
the end of lap one, was beaten by the British rider on the second lap, both ending the race
separated by one point favourable to the seven times world champion. Bou and Lampkin’s
results have increased the advantage of Montesa in the classification by manufacturers.
Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT), who is still overcoming an injury, was thirteenth in the
Junior World Cup event.
Toni Bou: “Another event and another victory. Looking at it this way, I think we have good
reason to feel very satisfied. Today’s result is good, but I did make some mistakes in each
of the laps, so I think the final score could have been even better. Apart from this comment,
the basic thing is to continue working like up to now, to keep up this sort of outcome, which
won’t be easy”.
Dougie Lampkin: “The result was good, but I’m not entirely satisfied, as I failed in some
points where I shouldn’t have. But at the end of the day, what counts is the final
classification, and here a podium position is always valuable”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “Again a neck and neck with Dougie and a podium place lost by just
one point. I made some mistakes you can’t get away with when the level of your rivals is so
high. I’m already thinking about the next event, in my country, and therefore very important
for me. Of course, another victory there would be sensational”.

weekend, June 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in Motegi (Japan).

A new victory for Toni Bou, who remains unbeaten. Takahisa
Fujinami on the podium again.
La Antigua (Guatemala), 22.04.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC 4RT) obtained another
victory on the second day of the Trial Grand Prix of Guatemala, third scoring event for the
World Championship. With this victory, the Repsol-Montesa HRC rider remains unbeaten in
the current edition of the championship, increasing his lead in the general classification to
11 points.
Takahisa Fujinami and Dougie Lampkin (Both also riding Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT bikes)
maintained a tough struggle for third position and finally both achieved the same number of
points. The greatest number of zeros in zones obtained by the Japanese rider meant he
won a podium position for the second consecutive day. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota
4RT) repeated her seventh position in the Junior World Cup, the same position she
occupies in the general classification of this world cup. With Toni Bou’s double victory and
the two podium positions of Takahisa Fujinami in this double session of the championship
in Guatemala, Montesa has consolidated its position as leader in the classification by
manufacturers.
Toni Bou: “Yesterday, Fujinami put up a strong fight and today Raga was pressing me until
the last moment. Of course, to win again is the best thing that could happen to me, but after
these three consecutive victories I don’t want to make any mistakes or fall into
complacency, as I still think that its vitally important to continue going step by step. This trial
event has been fantastic and we must congratulate its organisers for the quality of their
work”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “This podium position was difficult to obtain, as I made some mistakes
in the first lap and had to concentrate to the limit in the second. In the end I was able to
come up one position, although it was very close. It will be important to keep up the work
this season, which is going to be very exciting”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I think that although Fujinami won over me by just one zero in his favour,
I made an excellent race. The championship is interesting, very competitive and it will be
essential to keep up this record of good results. There are still a lot of races to go and as
many possibilities to do even better”.

on May 27th in Senez.

Double victory of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team with Toni Bou
winning again, after an intense duel with Takahisa Fujinami.
La Antigua (Guatemala), 21.04.2007. - The struggle between Toni Bou and Takahisa
Fujinami (Both riding Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT bikes) for the victory on the first day of the
Grand Prix of Guatemala has offered the maximum thrill in this second event of the World
Trial Championship, held on extremely tough terrain with very difficult zones. Toni Bou, who
had already won the first event of the championship, managed to stand up to the pressure
exerted by his teammate, obtaining a new victory that increases his advantage as World
Championship leader.
With this double victory of the Repsol-Montesa HRC riders, Montesa is leader in the
classification by manufacturers. Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) almost reached
the podium position that he obtained in the previous competition, while Laia Sanz
(Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) suffered the toughness of the event, finishing seventh among
the Junior World Cup participants, one position in front of her place in the general
classification.
Toni Bou: “It’s been fantastic to win again. Victory hasn’t been easy, because the terrain
was very difficult and Fujinami has been a tough rival. There’s no doubt that a victory in
these conditions is more satisfying, it’s more highly valued and increases your confidence.
However, we’re going to continue with the same method we used in the indoor world
championship: that’s to go step by step, modestly, following an established line of work and
without forgetting that the championship's only just begun”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I’m satisfied with my result, as I was able to put the pressure on Toni in
our struggle for victory. Tomorrow I’ve got another chance to try and beat him. Perhaps I
made too many mistakes in the second lap, but I’m generally content, and even more so
with the team’s results”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I was doing very well in the first lap until I began lagging behind in zone
ten. In the second lap I advanced one position, although I didn’t quite reach the podium
position I got in the previous event. Tomorrow I’ll try to regain the lost points. In a trial
competition like this, it is possible”.
The second session of this World Trial Championship, held for the fist time in Guatemala,
will be on Sunday 22nd.

Toni Bou wins a very difficult event, becoming the first leader of the world championship. Dougie Lampkin begins the championship on the podium.
Mancha Real (Jaén, Spain), 01.04.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) won the
Spanish Trial Grand Prix, which this Sunday began a new edition of the World
Championship. The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider excelled in areas which the rain fallen
previously had left impassable and that mostly had to be modified. Even so, the high scores
have been a testimony of the level of difficulty characterising this first world championship
event. A penalization due to excessive time stopped Toni Bou from ending the first lap as
leader. In the second lap, the current world indoor champion made an impeccable
performance that gave him an important victory.
Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) was on the third step of the podium, obtaining
the same number of points as Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT), who competed
in low form due to a strong fever that affected him on Saturday. Toni Bou’s victory and the
third position of Dougie Lampkin have placed Montesa as leader of the classification by
manufacturers. The toughness of the circuit affected Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT),
who was fifteenth among the Junior World Cup participants.
Toni Bou: “I was a bit nervous when I started because the ground was very slippery and
previously I had not done very well in these conditions. This time it was different; I gained
confidence gradually and achieved a victory, which in these circumstances I can call a
great victory. Doubtlessly the best way to begin the championship”.
Dougie Lampkin: “It was a very difficult trial where I made some mistakes, but which I’m
very satisfied with. I think it’s extremely important to have started the world championship
with this result on such difficult ground. I expect a lot from this championship and to begin it
like this has been very interesting”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I lost the podium position because I made one zero less than Dougie in
the zones, but after having spent all day with a fever, I think this fourth position was a good
result. On such difficult terrain, we have seen that we can be very competitive, and that’s
very important”.
The second event of the World Championship will be the Grand Prix of Guatemala, in a
double session, on April 21st and 22nd.

With a new victory, Toni Bou confirms he is in good shape and
increases his advantage as leader.
Salou (Tarragona), 25.03.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) increased his
advantage as leader of the Spanish Trial Championship after winning the second scoring
event, held this Sunday. The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider again displayed his good shape
from the first lap, despite the failure in zone 13, broken by the preceding participant, which
impeded him from ending as leader alone. In the second lap, Toni Bou made an
impeccable performance, without a single penalty point.
Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished third after correcting, in a brilliant
second lap, some of the mistakes he made in the previous lap. Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT) was fifth in this last event before the beginning of the World Outdoor
Championship, next Sunday. The Japanese and the British riders are third and fourth
respectively in the general classification of the Spanish Championship, a competition they
do not intend to continue to the end. Laia Sanz (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) finished eighth in
the Senior B category.
Toni Bou: “I’m very satisfied with my second lap. To finish with zero points was fantastic. In
the first I made some mistakes and, in addition, I found the zone broken and in those
conditions a failure was inevitable. It’s clear that we’ve made a good start in the outdoor de
trial season, but even though everything is going well for the imminent start of the World
Championship, I want to continue with caution, and above all to continue working on the
same lines as now”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “In the first event I commented that my starting position possibly
influenced my modest result and today has confirmed that I was right. The starting order
was in my favour and this time my second lap has been very convincing. I got a podium
position and now that the world championship is about to start, it is important to be in
leading positions”.
Dougie Lampkin: “Although it may seem contradictory in view of my results, I’m quite
content with how I felt on the bike. Yes, I know that I got a lot of points for touching the
zone tapes but I think that these have not been strictly riding problems. So I’m going to start
the world championship with lots of motivation and a good feeling”.
The Spanish Trial Championship will resume on June 24th with an event held in Pobladura
de las Regueras (León). Until then, the first four events of the World Championship will
have been held, two of which are double sessions. The championship starts next Sunday
April 1st in Mancha Real (Jaén, Spain).

Toni Bou is officially proclaimed World Champion
The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider shared the podium of the last eventin this championship with Dougie Lampkin.
Madrid, 17.03.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) was officially proclaimed World
Trial Indoor Champion at the end of the eighth and last scoring event, held in the Palacio
de Deportes of the Community of Madrid. The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider, who had already
left the title decided at the end of February in Menorca, finished second in this last event of
the championship, sharing the podium with Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT),
who reached the posts of honour for the second time this year. In this his first year as a
member of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, Toni Bou, the youngest champion in the
speciality, was the star of this year's world indoor championship, as can be seen in his four
victories and three second positions achieved in the eight events in the competition. The
results of the Repsol-Montesa HRC team were completed with two podium positions won
by Lampkin and the sensational double victory of Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami in
Barcelona. The Japanese and the British riders were fourth and fifth respectively in the final
classification.
Toni Bou: “I'd prefer to close the championship with a victory, but its clear that you can't
always win. Anyway I’m fully satisfied with the results we achieved in this championship. I
hope we can repeat these results in the outdoor world championship that starts in a couple
of weeks”.
Dougie Lampkin: “This podium in the last event has been a good way to end the
championship, in which I've had some ups and downs. Now we must concentrate on the
outdoor championship, where I hope this team will leave its mark and personally I hope it
will be better for me that the one that's just ended”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “From the whole championship, the best thing for me was my second
position in Barcelona. It was sensational and I would have liked to repeat it, but here in
Madrid I made a lot of mistakes, so I’ll have to wait until next year. Now, with the beginning
of world outdoor trials championship, we must move on. I hope I'll be able to start it in the
best conditions”.

Toni Bou began the open trial season with strength, in the debut of
the 2007 version of the Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT.
Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (Spain), 04.03.2007. - One week after winning the world indoor
trial championship, Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) has begun the outdoor season with
great strength, having won this Sunday the first event of the Spanish Championship,
competition in which the Repsol-Montesa HRC team used the 2007 evolution version of the
Cota 4RT for the first time. Bou thus defended the title he won the previous season in the
best way possible; achieving the highest score in the two laps of the course, in the first of
which he only made one failure in the last zone, which was also impossible for the rest of
the competitors.
Dougie Lampkin (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) obtained third position, accompanying Bou on
the podium and preceding Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT). Both the British
and the Japanese rider will not compete in the whole of this championship, Laia Sanz
(Montesa HRC Cota 4RT) finished seventh in the Senior B category.
Toni Bou: “It's good and encouraging, both on a personal level and for the team, to begin a
new championship winning the first event. And, in addition, to do it in zones so different
from what we were used to up to now indoors. But as I already said in the indoor world
championship, these competitions are long and we must take them step by step, enjoying
the good moments, but above all working event by event with the aim of constantly
progressing”.
Dougie Lampkin: “I took this event as a preparation for the world championship and I’m
satisfied by the result and the performance of the new version of the motorbike. In the first
lap I made some mistakes that I shouldn’t have, but I improved in the second and came
very close to the level I expected of myself”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “I’m not exactly content with this result. I think my position at the start
wasn’t the most favourable, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. There’s one month to go for
the beginning of the world championship and it’s clear that I must improve”.
The second scoring event in the Spanish Championship will be held on March 25th in Port
Aventura (Salou, Tarragona).

World Indoor Trial Championship
7 th round.
?FEBRUARY 24 2007
The Repsol-Montesa HRC rider only had to finish second in the
penultimate event to conquer his first world championship
Mahón (Menorca, Spain), 24.02.2007. - Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC Cota 4RT) obtained the title of
World Indoor Trial Champion after finishing second in the seventh and penultimate scoring
event, held this Saturday in Mahón. Born on October 17th, 1986 and resident in Piera, province
of Barcelona, Bou won his first title as a trial rider when he was 13 years old (Junior Champion
of Catalonia), followed by the Junior Spanish championship in 2001, the Junior Continental Cup
(2002) and the European Championship (2003). Bou has won the Trial des Nations twice (2005
and 2006), and in 2006 he also won the absolute Spanish Championship. During this, his first
year as a rider for the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, the Catalan has won four of the seven
events held up to now in the World Indoor Championship and was second in another two.
Bou ended the first lap leading this competition in the Balearic Islands, obtaining a one-point tie
with Albert Cabestany and with one point more than Adam Raga. The three remained close in
the play-off, in which Takahisa Fujinami and Dougie Lampkin were out (both riding Montesa-
HRC Cota 4RT), this being the third consecutive time that the Japanese riders almost reaches
the podium.
Toni Bou: “Ever since I was small, I wanted to be World Champion, a dream that has now come
true. When I decided to join the Repsol-Montesa HRC team, I was sure that here I would find
the best way to progress in my sports career, but I never imagined that this first success would
come so quickly, just in my second season in the world indoor. This title is the best reward that I
can offer the team for the confidence that they have all placed in me, and it’s without doubt the
best encouragement to continue working as much as we have done up to now”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “Of course, a magnificent day for the team and for Toni, who’s obtained the
best prize for his impeccable work. I would have been thrilled to be with him on the podium like
in Barcelona, but I made too many mistakes. In contrast to the two previous events, this time
the differences were significant”.
Dougie Lampkin: “First I’d like to congratulate Toni and the team for the achievement and how
they did it. We’ve all worked as hard as possible ever since the 4-stroke Cota was developed, to
be able to celebrate this success. Regarding Toni, I’ve been through what he is experiencing
and know perfectly well how he’s feeling”.
The Indoor Trial World Championship ends on March 17th in Madrid.
